I remember my grandmother making this delicious apple cinnamon cake when I was a little girl. The combination of cinnamon, apple and walnut is perfect. This is an old recipe that everyone loves and is easy to make.
This cake is very moist and crumbly formed with the wonderful flavor of cinnamon. We cut our apples well so that there are no huge apple chunks, but you can adjust them to your liking. A classic mix of sweetness, spice, and everything nice!
This apple and cinnamon cake is great for dessert or even breakfast. We make this a lot for the company and always get rave reviews with everyone who wants the recipe. This is also the perfect "snack cake" for my children when they come home from school and want a dessert. I love how easy this is in its only 20 minute setup time.
Cake is an easy classic, whether it's a chocolate cake, vanilla cake, or even something with a little spice and fruity like this apple cinnamon cake recipe.
Cakes with fruits or vegetables (like a carrot cheesecake or a Christmas cranberry cake) tend to be very moist and delicious, and this apple cake is a perfect example of this!
Tips
The best baked apples are slightly tart, keep their shape during the cooking process and are not very juicy. Our favorites are Granny Smith, Jonathan or Janagold, Cortland, Braeburn, and Honeycrisp.
You can also chop the apples if you do not prefer the bite of a larger apple. Sometimes kids feel better about the texture of a food like this and also throw out the nuts.
Another idea is to sprinkle icing sugar a little on a refrigerated cake, or sprinkle it with a glaze.
You can also tip with whipped cream.
* Apple cake ingredients:
° 220 grams of regular flour.
° 150 grams of fine sugar.
° 2 tsps Baking Powder.
° 1/2 tsp baking soda
° 2 large chopped red apples.
° 2 large eggs
° 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
° 1/2 cup vegetable oil
° 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
* To make a layer of cinnamon you will need:
° 50 grams of fine sugar.
° 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
° 1 tablespoon of melted butter
° And for a sugar glaze, I just used it:
° 30 grams of powdered sugar.
° 2 tablespoons of milk
* Let's make it together:
Step 1: Before starting, set the oven temperature to 180 ° C = 350 ° F, and using baking paper or butter, grease an 8-inch or 9-inch round cake pan.
Step 2: Choose a large mixing bowl and mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and baking soda. To mix, you'll add chopped red apples and stir briefly.
Step 4: In a different bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract, vegetable oil and yogurt, and whisk them only briefly to break up the yolks.
Step 5: You then need to combine the wet and dry ingredients together. And when mixing, mix gently with a wooden spoon, being careful not to over-mix.
Step 6: Place the mixture with a spoon into a prepared pan immediately.
Step 7: You can mix cinnamon, sugar and butter together to coat the cinnamon and mix until sticky and lumpy, then spread it over the cake batter.
Step 8: When done, bake the cake for about 30 to 35 minutes, making sure to insert a skewer in the middle and come out clean. To cool completely, you must then transfer the cake to a wire rack.
Step 9: Mix sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk together to create a glaze, stirring until mixture is smooth. When the glaze is too heavy, be sure to add tablespoons of milk.
Sprinkle a frosting all over the refrigerated cake.
enjoy it! It's seriously delicious !!
