Easy & Delicious Cheesy Garlic Scalloped Potato



These Cheesy Garlic Scalloped Potatoes are full of garlic flavour and parmesan cheese, making up the best side dish to any meal !! A must try recipe !


- Russet potatoes: 5 lbs (sliced 1/8 thick)

- Onions: 2 cups (chopped small)

- Garlic: 6 cloves (minced)

- Butter: ¼ cup (½ stick)

- Flour: ¼ cup 

- Vegetable broth: 1 ½ cups

- Heavy cream: 1 ½ cups

- Salt: 1 Tbs 

- Pepper: 2 tsp 

- Slap Ya Mama seasoning: 2 tsp 

- Sour cream: 8 oz 

- Cheddar cheese: 3 cups (grated, divided)

- Pepper jack cheese: 1 cup (grated)

- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese: 1 cup 


1. First, start your oven to preheat to 400° and spray a 14 x 11½ x 2¼ baking dish with a non stick spray then set aside.

2. Your potatoes should be peeled and thinly sliced approximately 1/8" thick then place in a large bowl until ready to use.

3. Melt butter in a large frying pan over low flame, then add onions and garlic and saute for about 4 to 5 minutes.

4. Ok now, sprinkle flour over onion mixture. And please stir and cook for a couple minutes.

5. After that, make sure vegetable broth are gently poured into pan and stir. You'll want to add salt and pepper, seasoning and heavy cream, stirring until thickened. Once done, go ahead and remove from heat just prior to boiling. Immediately add 2 cups of cheddar cheese and stir.

6. Next, you're going to get baking dish and layer in 1/3 of the potato slices. Then, go ahead and add 1/3 of the sour cream and 1/3 of the cheese sauce over the potatoes.

7. Alright, you can use 1/3 of the Parmesan, 1/3 pepper jack cheese and 1/3 of cheddar cheese for topping.

8. Layering needs to be repeated twice ending with cheddar cheese.

9. Cover with foil and place in oven and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

10. The foil should be removed about 15 - 20 minutes prior to potatoes being done, so to brown the cheese a bit.

11. Finally, remove from oven and always remember to let sit for about 15 minutes, then enjoy.
